RSVP here

Week 5: Mar 11, 2025 Embodied Spirituality: Ancestral Honoring Practices

A session introducing the many forms of Ancestral Honoring as a spiritual practice: meditation, visualization, seasonal attunement, altar work, prayer and more. Tian Tian and Xuel will introduce their approach and invite folks to share their personal practices.

Why Do We Gather in CommuniTEA?

Many of us in the Chinese diaspora community, living far from our ancestral lands and people, struggle with not knowing where HOME is. We often feel disconnected - from ourselves, from people in our lives, from the Earth, from our blood family and community, and from a relationship with something greater than our material existence. It’s common to carry a sense of confusion, alienation or heaviness, navigating life shaped by cross-cultural identities, inherited beliefs, intergenerational wounds, and complex family dynamics.

Yet, we are never truly alone: our quests, struggles and relationships with our highest calling are deeply intertwined with the lineages of creative life force that flow through us.

Within these lineages lie immense gifts — no matter it is real life expansions and inner power waiting for you to reclaim on the path of lineage healing, or ancestral wisdom on how to resolve intergenerational wounds that leads to bigger systematic change. Connecting with our roots enable us to draw nourishment from our earthly foundations, open us to the infinite possibility of guidance, support and belonging waiting for you — what we call our Ancestral Trust Fund.

We know this journey is not easy, as it has not been for us. That’s why we created this CommuniTEA space, to back you with a network of support. We invite you to explore ways to live in alignment with our cultural and ancestral heritage — the beautiful and the ugly— and ways to anchor our lives in deep groundedness and trust. We also invite you to become open to see yourself in the mirror in others, noticing how we are not separate, but united in our shared challenges and journeys back to wholeness. Our talks will draw on personal stories and Chinese ancestral wisdom such as Daoist, Confucius and Buddhist philosophy, Chinese medicine etc. to nurture our connection to Earth and to our primary being. Whether you are new to ancestral work or have been walking this path for years, our community offers a space to listen, reflect and connect with the root source of life within you.

So, will you let us pour a cup of tea for you and join us in the conversation?
